PVB Traveling Exhibit Honors Filipino Veteran Heroes During 82nd Araw ng Kagitingan and 2024 Philippine Veterans Week
BALANGA CITY – In commemoration of the 82nd Araw ng Kagitingan and the 2024 Philippine Veterans Week, the Philippine Veterans Bank hosted its War of Our Fathers: A Brotherhood of Heroes Traveling Exhibit at SM City Bataan from April 5 to 11, 2024.
The multi-awarded mobile museum, displayed at the Ground Level of SM City Bataan, was officially opened by PVB Representative Atty. Federico A. Manalo-Program Director, accompanied by Bataan Vice Governor Ma. Cristina M. Garcia and other Provincial Board Members.
The exhibit, themed around the Liberation of the Philippines, featured dedicated panels depicting local war photographs and scenes as a tribute to Filipino veterans. It aimed to educate the public about the critical role played by Filipino veterans in World War II, showcasing 52 panels of photographs, narratives, artifacts, and memorabilia.
Additionally, the exhibit introduced PVB’s new charter, Republic Act 11597, and paid tribute to modern-day Filipino heroes, including post-World War II retirees of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
SM City Bataan, fully supporting this educational exhibit, provided the venue, acknowledging the importance of preserving and sharing Bataan’s rich history during World War II.
