PVB Honors War Heroes at the 80th Lingayen Gulf Landings Anniversary & 18th Pangasinan Veterans Day
Eulogio “Yul” V. Catabran III, OIC-President of Philippine Veterans Bank, represented the Bank at the wreath-laying ceremony of the 80th Lingayen Gulf Landings and the 18th Pangasinan Veterans Day held on January 9, 2025. Yul also handed out financial assistance to 20 surviving World War II veterans in Pangasinan.
The veterans – aged 98 to 108, were honored for their bravery and heroism during the war.
Led by Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III, the commemoration paid tribute to these extraordinary men, among the last surviving warriors of WWII. Their presence served as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism that shaped the nation’s history.
The event brought together officials from the Department of National Defense (DND), Veterans Federation of the Philippines, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), local government leaders, and diplomatic representatives.
Yul’s presence in the event, his first for a WW II – related event, reinforced the Bank’s commitment to preserving the legacy of Filipino veterans.
PVB, which is considered to be a monument for the heroism of WWII veterans, remains dedicated to honoring and supporting the veterans. Through commemorations and assistance programs, the Bank ensures their sacrifices are remembered and their legacy lives on.
