PVB Pays Tribute to Veterans at San Pedro City Veterans Day

Philippine Veterans Bank joined the San Pedro City Veterans Day on March 5, 2025, in a heartfelt tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino veterans who fought for the nation’s freedom. This year’s event also marked the 80th death anniversary of Capt. Abelardo Remoquillo, a local hero of San Pedro, making the occasion even more meaningful.

Held at San Pedro City Plaza, the commemoration brought together representatives from the government, veteran organizations, and the local community. Among the distinguished attendees were National Historical Commission of the Philippines Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, PVB Program Director Federico A. Manalo, Descendants of Hunters ROTC Guerillas, Inc. President Rosela De Ocampo, Veterans Federation of the Philippines-San Pedro President Col. Jesus Rey Avilla, PAF (Ret.), and VFP Sons and Daughters Association, Inc. Executive Vice President Miguel Angelo C. Villa-real. The event’s guest of honor, Mr. Noel Remoquillo Buhay, a descendant of Capt. Remoquillo, paid tribute to his grandfather’s legacy and the sacrifices of Filipino soldiers.

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the city’s veterans’ monument served as a powerful symbol of the nation’s enduring gratitude. The gathering emphasized the importance of not only remembering the heroism of the past but also ensuring continuous support for the veteran community today. As a bank founded by World War II veterans, PVB remains steadfast in its mission to honor their legacy—not only by supporting commemorations like this but also by actively advocating for the welfare of veterans and their families.
